yellow and red / pink gold-plated

by mywatchmaker.net

The finish on these deployant clasps is superb with all the edges rounded and smoothed.  The patented mechanism is simply a brilliant design, impeccably executed and it functions smoothly and flawlessly.  It's been tested successfully to over 10,000 open/close cycles - thats over 27 years at once a day.  That superb design enables the "works"  portion of the deployant to be smooth  on the wrist and make the deployant only  2 mm thick - a definite plus on the wrist.

* I finally decided to "brand" my deployant clasps as what they are - mywatchmaker.net deployants.  On web watch forums you may see them as "rhd" deployants - the name by which I am known on those watch forums.

yellow and red/pink* gold

by mywatchmaker.net

These are my superbly manufactured mywatchmaker.net deployant clasps that have been meticulously and heavily gold plated to my specification of 5 microns thick to provide years of service.

* red/pink gold-plated deployants are often mistakenly called "rose" gold-plated by other sellers on the Web.  For an explanation of the difference between red/pink gold and rose gold please scroll down.

a important note about gold colors

Yellow  gold is pretty much yellow   gold ... BUT

Red or pink gold and rose gold are very different, and unfortunately, many internet sellers don't seem  to realize there's a difference.

Those sellers are offering red / pink gold-plated deployant clasps and calling them "rose" gold and watch owners will be sorely disapponted if they are trying to match the color of their rose gold watch. You can see examples of red/pink gold and rose gold colors in the photographs   below.

There are many red gold watches - in addition to Lange, red or pink gold watches are being, and have been made by Blancpain, JLC, Hublot, IWC, Glashutte Original, Girard-Perregaux, Chronoswiss, Hamilton, the new Minerva, Kobold and even Invicta.

The so-called "rose" gold deployant clasp pictured on the right above isn't even close to the color of  rose gold Minerva Caliber 49 watch.  That deployant is being distributed by Hadley-Roma and is being described by many sellers on the Web as "rose" gold.
